My dear friend Sydney...we go way back. Almost 6 years now. We met through a rescheduled hair appointment. I will never forget questioning the receptionist if "she was good or not"? It turned out she's damn good at styling, cutting, and coloring hair! Today, it's hard to get an appointment in with her at Lunatic Fringe at Melrose on 8th Avenue! Girl talk was always nothing short of men, one being her new boyfriend at the time. She was very clear that they were trying not to rush in to things; but boy I could see the fire in her eyes and facial expressions as she refused to look up in the mirror to show me how much she was in love.
Later, when it was obvious that she wanted to marry Josh, all we talked about was when I will be photographing her wedding, where she wanted her wedding to be at, the decorating style, her dress and how important it was to get married before her brother went back in to active duty at the end of 2015.
I didn't meet Josh until I shot their engagement photos, but I felt like I had already known him for a while. I was so proud of them, to look through the lens of my camera and see the deep connection, friendship and love they have built since they met. They were oozing with eager hearts to be husband and wife. I LOVED it!!
The heavy rain never held back on their wedding day, but no one even noticed because of the happiness in the air. When I look at their photos I feel like I have stepped in to their world of a dream.
Bloomsbury Farm is a beautiful venue and property to get married at. Getting ready in the renovated barn was certainly a place I WANT TO LIVE. The outdoor environment really let you feel one with nature. During the intimate ceremony, the rain trickled through the leaves giving you the feeling of being in a state of meditation; with the warmth of the fire spreading across the pavilion, the ambiance was so appropriate to mirror the serenity and calm nature that Sydney has given in our friendship over these years!
